Government Fires School Feeding Caterers Nationwide
The government has, with immediate effect, terminated the contracts of caterers working under the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) nationwide.
The National Coordinator of the programme, Hajia Fati Forgoh, announced this in a statement dated Friday, May 2, 2025.
“Please be informed that contracts of all caterers of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) nationwide have been terminated with immediate effect” she announced.
She further all individuals providing meals to beneficiary schools across the country not to cook for the upcoming third term of the 2024/2025 academic year.
“Accordingly, no existing caterer on the Programme should cook for the third term of the 2024/2025 academic year” the statement emphasized.
The National Coordinator indicated all outstanding arrears for the second term of the 2024/2025 academic year will be paid by the government in due course.
Meanwhile, the decision to terminate the contracts of the caterers forms part of a broader restructuring exercise of the National Secretariat of the Ghana School Feeding Programme.
On the back of this, the GSFP Boss said the Secretariat will soon announce the modalities for the recruitment of new caterers for the Programme.
