The Management of the Northern Electricity Distribution Company (NEDCo) has announced for the information of the general public, especially, its cherished customers within the Northern Area that they will experience series of power outages this week from Wednesday, January 22, 2025 to Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 8:00am to 5:00pm.

A statement issued by the Corporate Communications of NEDCo dated Sunday (January 19, 2025) disclosed the communities to be affected on Wednesday, January 22, include the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH), Kpaanvo, Adubiliyili, Vittin, Yendi Road, Salaga Road, AVNASH, Nyankpala, Part of Kukuo, Nyankpala Reverse, and their surrounding communities.

On Thursday, residents of Dalun, Kpalsi, Daboya, Kumbungu, Tamale Airport, Bawah Barracks, Nyeshei, Dungu, Zagyuri, Gbanyamni and their surrounding communities will experience outages in their localities.

The exercise is expected to end on Saturday, January 25, with the Tamale Central Business District, Regional Administration, Fuo, SSNIT Flats, Moshie Zongo, Hausa Zongo, Police Headquarters, Old Cemetery, Lamashegu, Education Ridge, Timber Market, Sagnarigu, Sognaayili, Gumbihini, Zogbeli Lamakara, Nyohini, Industrial Area and their surrounding communities will also experience the blackout.

The statement of the power distributor further clarified that these outages are to enable GRIDCo carry out routine maintenance works to help improve upon electricity supply in the Area.
