Sack NPP opportunists seeking to maintain their positions in gov’t – Superior to Mahama

The outspoken former Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Forestry Commission, Hon Musah Iddrisu Superior, has called on President John Dramani Mahama to sack political appointees of the erstwhile Nana Akufo-Addo government who are adamant to resign from their positions and allegedly lobbying to maintain their portfolios in his government.

He noted that, “If any NAADA appointee refuses to resign and lobbying to be retained or pretending to be an NDC just to keep his or her job in the current government, he or she is not a true NPP person. They are opportunists. President Mahama MUST sack them.”

The NPP stalwart made these assertions in a social media post sighted by GINA News Online dated Friday, February 7, 2025.

The former Mayor of Tamale further commended the appointment of loyalists of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into the Mahama government.

In the next NPP government, Musah Superior said jobs must be given to qualified, known and loyal party people who have demonstrated greater participation in the partyโ€™s activities and not self seeking notorious apolitical persons who are only seen parading the corridors of power after the party win power.

He emphasized that this will no longer be tolerated!

“I have read and heard people criticising prioritising appointments of party people over competence. This is political correctness. It is none starter.

“We have the men. Dont we? So let’s use our competent men and women to govern. The “competent” apolitical person is not a super Ghanaian” he stressed.

He said a future NPP led government should widely within the party first before considering these other “competent” persons outside the party.

He added those who have worked and sacrificed both physically and financially for the victory of the party must not be sacrificed on the alter of exaggerated so called inclusive government.

“We must look widely within first before we continue the search for these other โ€œcompetentโ€ persons outside of the Party.”
