Zabzugu Youth Mourns Late Yelizoli Lana Iddrisu Imoro II

The Zabzugu Youth Association has mourned the loss of Yelizoli-Lana Iddrisu Imoro II, the late paramount chief of the Zabzugu traditional area in the Northern Region. The chief passed on last week and was laid to rest in accordance with Dagbon customs and tradition.

Chairman of the group, Mr. Yakubu Abdul Majeed, in a statement copied to GINA News Room extended the condolence of the youth to the bereaved royal family.

โ€œWe mourn the loss of our beloved chief, Yelizoli-Laan Imoro Iddirisu. Our deepest condolences go to you, Chief Tung Lana Alhaji Umar Mohammed, and your entire family. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdausโ€ the statement added.

According to family sources, the late Yelizoli Lana Iddrisu Imoro II was born in 1914 into the royal lineage of the late Yelizoli Lana Abdulai. This portal has gathered that Naa Imoro served as Peng lana between 1984 and 1997. He also served as chief of Nyankpala (1997 to 1999) and subsequently as Lagban Lana from 1999 to 2019.

His traditional journey continued unabated when he was enskinned as paramount chief of Yelizoli (Zabzugu) on 19th April, 2019.

Meanwhile, the family has announced that the seven day funeral rites of the late traditional leader and installation of his regent is scheduled for Friday, December 27, 2024, in Zabzugu.

The late chief was an embodiment of peace and unity and is also remembered for his endearing developmental prowess.
